I am in a singles ward. Some of the women in the ward have children (either grown children or children who do not live with them). My visiting teachees do not have kids.  So I left a note that said, "The lesson this month is on parenting, which requires children, so . . . ."

I had to order these from Deseret Book and it wasn't cheap.  In retrospect, it's October, so I should've bought something mummy-related and put "Be like the mummies of the stripling warriors."

I got some dollar store kids' gloves and attached a note that read, "Take a child by the hand and lead him (or her, depending on the circumstances of the sister receiving the gift) to the Gospel."

A co-worker bought some notepads from me and could put, "Take note of your blessings and be grateful."

For October's gift, I went to the local dollar store and bought some children's toys (since it's October, I made sure there were some Halloween toys, too).
