November 2011

"I'm thankful for my testimony."

(A scarecrow was the best I could do for something Thanksgiving-y.)

Renewing Covenants through the Sacrament
Bread and water. Simple enough.

~
As we take the bread and water each week, we "promise to remember the atoning sacrifice of our Savior as we renew our baptismal covenant. We promise to do as the Savior did—to be obedient to the Father and always keep His commandments. The blessing we receive in return is to always have His Spirit to be with us." --Elder Robert D. Hales

April 2010

Seek the light of personal revelation.

I went to the dollar store and planned on getting a bunch of different kinds of flashlights and light sources: flashlights, glowing toys, candles. There were no glowing toys and the one person I visit teach shouldn't have candles in the house with her son's oxygen. $20 later I realized I should've just bought 1 decent flashlight. But the dollar store doesn't give refunds.

March 2010

For this one I went to the Distribution Center and bought a pocket version of the Book of Mormon.

"We want our sisters to be scholars of the scriptures. . . .

"We want our homes to be blessed with sister scriptorians--whether you are single or married, young or old, widowed or living in a family. . . . Become scholars of the scriptures--not to put others down, but to lift them up!"

"Understand and Live the Gospel of Christ""Plant your spiritual roots deep and enjoy the fruits of the Gospel."

This one is pretty easy, especially in the fall when fruits are abundant. You could do pretty much anything that relates to plants (seeds, potting soil, etc.), but since it is fall, I chose fruit. I went the cheap route and got no-name jellies/jams. To make the gift more unique or special, use fresh fruits and vegetables from your garden or a farmers' market, or stuff you canned yourself.
